Park, ducks, fun with friends - 3 hours today!

Today was one of those days when my 1000 hours outside challenge was an easy one. It was a glorious day today.

At 9:30, Addie and I were sat in the car with a sleeping Bear, and we read one of our Alphatales books, talked about it, practiced our poem The Tadpole, which Addie loves, looked at our frog lifecycle toys, and read a book about the frog lifecycle. We were meant to be raising tadpoles starting from today, but alas the frogspawn was eaten by a friendly fish apparently!

We did about 45 minutes of school in the car - who says it has to be at home?! Then we went to meet up with friends from church. In total, there were 6 children, 4 of whom are around Addie's age, and then the two younger brothers, including Bear... We played in the park. We had a picnic (Charlotte Mason talks about eating outside is a good thing). We fed the swans, ducks, pigeons and gulls LOTS of bread! We walked along the river with the boats on it. We went to the bandstand where the 4 friends played, and one gave a great musical performance! And then we walked back to the park. We said goodbye to our friends and stayed in the park a little longer, before going back to the car to pick Jay up from school. It was such a lovely day. We all had fun, and it really lifted my spirits too. If only every day could be like that!
